My attempt at dodging and burning in the bw conversion process

My friend, in front of the New Orleans Museum of Art
Roxanne Jackson on her work and inspiration:
“I am concerned with confronting the shadows of the unconscious, having a dialogue with the grotesque and, therein, discovering beauty. The tenor of my work is macabre and emotional as I deal with extreme axioms to dramatize the dualities of our nature; these polar aspects reside within us and include vulnerability and strength, the light and the dark, the human and the inhuman….
The contrasts I explore exhibit a breadth of emotions that express our psychological and spiritual maturation. The emotions I’m concerned with are sometimes buried and inaccessible to most people. They include pain, fear and separation. Confronting these emotions can serve as a catalyst that melts barriers to our development. “

I’ve seen a couple of variations of nifty cuffs, but these take the cake (so far…).
The cuffs are functional and stylish! They can contain your ID, cash, credit card, mascara, lip gloss and even your keys. For those times you don’t feel like carrying a purse and want to hang lite, this seems like an awesome alternative.
The designs very from stylish (night couture) to laid back (day couture), for almost every occasions.
They’re by designer Jacqueline Dadon, more info can be found here.

love, the elusive consciousness,
That lives within and without all at once
The force that brings great men to their knees,
And possesses women to act foolish
The ever desired idea embedded in children
The benchmark for hopes and dreams
See, that’s the thing about love…
It’s all things glorious,
All things beautiful
Yet can leave a gaping hole in an unassuming heart
love loves, love heals, love hurts, love gives
love transcends, love forgives
love leaves a mark, which only love can erase
love is an idea we give power to
love is male, love is female
love is He, She, Me
love is gay, love is war
love is a friend that we sometimes dreaded
my friend deemed it asexual,
her words: ‘love, go fuck yourself’
love is an idea we entertain
See, that’s the thing about love!
